Flames fans can rest easy — Dion Phaneuf needn’t hitch a ride to upcoming home dates now that he has his wheels back.
The bruising blueliner’s truck was stolen and taken for a joy ride late Tuesday afternoon but has since been recovered.
Cops found the truck early today between 2 and 3 a.m., said Insp. Luch Berti.
“I believe it was found just outside the downtown core in the Beltline or Altadore area,” he said.
Tuesday’s theft forced Phaneuf to make some last-minute travel plans for the squad’s clash with the Colorado Avalanche that night.
He ended up hitching a ride with cops, arriving at the Saddledome just before 5 p.m.
The truck was stolen outside Westbrook Mall in the city’s southwest after the hockey star reportedly left the vehicle running while he ducked into a store to grab a cup of coffee.
