Program #281 Japanese Experimental Rock BLAZING BRONZE, MAGICAL POWER MAKO, ASKA TEMPLE Friday 7PM (Pacific), 10PM (Eastern) んUSA Sunday 3PM (Pacific Time), 6PM (Eastern) USA @ https://tunein.com/radio/HiLoRadio-s277498/
This Week MFATW features some of the most fascinating musical discoveries I made back in the day by Japanese underground experimental rock and electronic musicians. The Japan music scene literally exploded in the 1970's thru' the 1990's. Labels like Vanity Records, the LLE (Little League Elbow) label, DD Records, YLEM, Marquee, Belle Antique, Neu Nichts and others privately produced and released LTD ED cassettes, LPs & CDs.
This Week I'll play music by 3 artists unlike any other. Blazing Bronze were a musical project created by multi instrumentalist Hiroki Aoki. Magical Power Mako was an incredible DIY musician whose 25 albums defy categorization. Last, but certainly not least, was the late guitarist John Ubel and Aska Temple. John released 41 CDs on his own label New Nichts.
A History of the Japanese Experimental Rock & Electronic Underground scene incl. DD RECORDS YLEM & ASKA TEMPLE Interview a/o is all chronicled in the latest Eurock book titled ARCHIVES. Available Worldwide from Amazon.
