Tokyo Mon Amour
04 October 2006 - 8pm to 3am This show celebrates the Far-Eastern love affair with the electronic world and it’s imagined dystopian repercussions, as embodied by the rising stars of Japanese sound & vision. In a break from the norm, we are introducing a Nocturnal Art Gallery concept, with these artworks being shown in the evening and night to achieve their intended impact. This show will feature static art exhibits on the ground floor, which will be converted into an Oriental tea-room; and audiovisual installations in the form of short films and motion-picture visual art from internationally known Japanese artists Aesun Kim (Kyoto, London, Stockholm), Yutaka Inagawa (London, Paris, New York, Tokyo), Kenichi Okada (London, Tokyo), Yuko Takemura (London, Tokyo) and Kounosuke Kawakami (London); with Sonic Dragolgo (London, Tokyo) and Pop (London, Tokyo) performing live music installations.
