Hello Seth,

Where was a top photograph of the community taken?
Is this a replica because there is no emblem?

Thank you,

Heekun

seems like a replica. the fenders look a little weird to me...
I forget where I got the original photo from. However, yes, it is a replica. I would love to own a real Speedster (or any 356), however, most people say that a well-made replica (with a modern volkswagen powerplant) will easily out-handle and out-run an original. I would like to see if this is true!

What cars are you interested in? I especially love German and Italian cars from the 50's and 60's, however, I also love cars from almost every period and country!

Let's keep in touch.

Seth
i just love cars. my favorites would be...geez...i dont think i can make a list, but here are some of my favorites German and Italian cars...

BMW M1
BMW E24 M6
BMW E28 M5
BMW E30 M3
BMW 2002 tii
Mercedes-Benz W124
Audi (B4) S4
Audi RS2
Alfa Romeo 156GTA
Lamborghini Miura S and SV
Lamborghini Iota
Lamborghini Countach
Lamborghini LM002 (<--- so stupid, so cool)
Dino 246GTS (especially in white, mmm....)
VW Karmann Ghia
Aston Martin V8 Vantage (not the new one, the 70s)

oops, Astons are British :p. and IF i could have a 356 replica based on a modern VW, id rather have a fully restored E24 M6 or a E28 M5. mmm....E28 M5 with E34 M5 wheels. I really want a E28 M535i now, but since I'm only 23, I dont deserve driving a BMW and it would look stupid if some 23 year old was driving a nice E28. plus, my girlfriend wouldnt want be in a 2 decade old BMW.

my favorite japanese cars...too many. but the top two are a Skyline GTR (especially the BNR32 and KPGC10) an d a Subaru Impreza WRX Sti.
ブンブン、

We have very similar tastes in cars!

I also love 80's BMWs. I actually prefer them to the newer styles. However, when it comes to maintaining a BMW, after 10-15 years, it starts to get expensive and time consuming (especially in Japan). In addition, my wife forced me to get a new car!

Nobody could look stupid in an E28! It is such a smart looking car.

The early 70's Dino and mid-late 70's Vantage are also favorites of mine (however, I also like the new Vantage). Aston Martin has always matched grace with power.

As for your taste in Japanese cars, I see you like great driving cars. For performance, the WRX is hard to beat. Unfortunately, it's design is a little too 'GUNDAM' for me! Cheers!
i think BMW lost something in the 90s. I would love to own an 80s ///M car, but .... $$$$$.

well, i thought i'd look stupid in a E28 b/c those cars are getting to the point where its a "classic" now, and a young 23 year old wouldnt look right compared to a retired wealthy 50 year old :p.

and the new V8 Vantage....oh man. you should go see one if there is an Aston Martin dealer around you. The way the doors swing up a little, and just being there is breathtaking. and its cheap too (in aston martin speak)!!

japanese cars, I love those cars that is modified to the extreme. Anything from those low to the ground VIP cars to 200hp 'touge' machines to 800hp street drag cars. The only type of modified cars i still dont understand is the "DUB" cars....
ブンブン,

I haven't heard from you in a while. I was down in Kyoto this past Sunday. Unlike Tokyo, the weather was quite nice (for most of the day), so there were a lot of nice cars out on the road. I found a classic Mercedes specialist with an original 300sl Gullwing in the showroom. I also saw a yellow 246 dino (with removable top) on the road. Classic cars look a little more natural in Kyoto than they do in Tokyo...

Keep in touch.

-Seth
