イタリア - ローマコミュのBasic info about Rome

As I created this group and live in Rome I think
I should give information about Rome...
there is already plenty in tourist guides and on
the WEB and I have very little free time, but
I will try little by little to write the
information that is not found on tourist guides
or that escapes "quick tourists" (like the fact
that 20km from Rome there is a reasonably nice
beach and nice place for luxury boats built very
recently ...

SANTA MARIA DEL POPOLO

I still busy to give mixi the right attention but as
I feel guilty for having started this Rome group and
not writing much ... a little information about the
existence of Santa Maria del Popolo, one of my favourite
churches and one of the most beautiful in Rome.
It seems that most tourists ignore its existence,
maybe because it's small and in Piazza del Popolo,
where it is not very visible. Despite being small
inside is extremely beautiful very well proportioned
and with nice "art", anyay the nices thing for me is
the proportion of the inside, anyway, I have a very
persona taste, for instance I don't like the inside
of Saint Peter, actually I find it very bad taste.

a real life visit, if you're in Rome is very very
easy, the church is on one of the main squares,
Piazza del Popolo, the square is at the end of
Via del Corso, the most famous and central street
in Rome, despite that most people seem to ignore
the church. By the way it's the church where in the
novel "angels and daemons" there is the first
homicide of a cardinal, so I hope that that badly
written commercial books (but a good tourist guide)
brings some popularity to my favourite church.

So, what are you waiting? Fly to Rome and rush to
visit it.
