We got your package today with your photos and the photos taken by Futao. What fun to see them and remember what a nice time we had in your city! I especially like the ones of the students. They were very special young people and it was a pleasure to meet them and work with them. Please give our best to everyone there and a big THANK YOU for taking the time to send us the photos. Sincerely,
Kris, Dale, Ethan and Matt
The Ballinger Family Band
Hello!
As you know, The Ballinger Family Band went to Japan a couple of months ago and had a fantastic time. I’ve put together a video diary of our trip using photos that we took and that Yukari and Gator (our wonderful friends that put our tour together) and several other friends in Japan sent to us. I added music to the slide show by Matt Flinner, Ethan, The Ballinger Family Band and Cahalen Morrison & Eli West. Our trip starts in Tokyo, then on to Mt Fuji at the Asagiri Bluegrass Pickin’ Party (festival). Then we headed down to Gifu to play a concert and do a workshop with a bluegrass club from their local university. Then we go to Osaka and play at Another Dream. From there we have a day off in Kyoto exploring beautiful Zen gardens and the Golden Temple. Then we take the bullet train to Tokyo for the night and then on to Tochigi the next day to play at Dining Bar Ken. Then we take the train back to down town Tokyo for our last concert at the Rocky Top, followed by a great party and bitter-sweet good-byes and then on to the airport the next morning to fly home. Please share this video with anyone you think would enjoy it, especially our friends in Japan! The video is almost 15 minutes long, so if you’re interested and have the time, sit back, turn up you speakers and enjoy a journey through Japan with The Ballinger Family Band!
