two points:

first, i was thinking how... like, what was i thinking, i'm a little tired and incoherant right now, but! i was thinking about how there sorta develops this "forigner english", and if you talk to enough non-native speakers you start to get used to it and you start to ignore all of the small errors and learn to piece together what needs to be understood, even if the meaning would be absolutely different coming from a native speakers mouth. its kinda interesting.

2. hating.
don't be a player hater ya'll. of course, in many of the english communities floating around, people, many of them being non-native speakers, aer bound to say accidentally offensive things. if you don't hold the same emotional connections to words that a native speaker does, you are far more likely to choose a word that might have a nuance much stronger than you realize. that said, i still think there's a lot of hatin going around the english communities as of late. i'm most interested right now in the topic within the "English Only" communitee started by hyde, which has gone from mildly offensive and rascist to offensive to rascist again and now i feel its sort of de-evolved into a "my english is better than yours" pissing contest. that shit is no good, because your talking to a community in which eventually, your gonna run up against someone who really is better than you, a native speaker. what i mean is, in language learning, the most important thing is to throw away your pride, accept you can't be right accept you can't be right always and learn by mistake. thats my opinion.

lastly, i have to note... while i can generally, and will readily, accept "foreign english" for what it is, certain things really do bother me, and i have to have some place to vent about them, to that end, my first ever WORST POINTS OF FORIEGN ENGLISH!!!

CRAP IS A NOUN! NOT AN ADJECTIVE! GOD DAMNIT! IF YOU WANT IT TO ACT AS AN ADJECTIVE YOU NEED TO ATTACH A -Y

lets review:

"you have crap english" NO!
"people's english are crap" NO!
"I realize your english is crappy but . . ." YES!

thats all. peace out, english love.
