# Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "We are ready for physical teams. We can cope with it, we can cope with aerial battles, we can cope with people who like to press a lot, we are ready for that.
"Blackburn have some different players, they play a little bit different. We know the way they play and what we have to do.
"Maybe they change the way they play against us. We know the best way to get a result is to think about ourselves and to perform and forget what they are."
# Blackburn midfielder Brett Emerton: "After the game at Ewood Park last season (which Chelsea won 1-0) we received some unfair criticism from Chelsea.
"I think since then we've proved that we're not just thugs, that we can play a bit of football, so I hope we can go there and prove that.
"I think there's a little bit of bitterness between the two teams because of that. We'll use that in a positive way and hopefully get something from the game."
BIG-MATCH FACTS
# CHELSEA manager Jose Mourinho insists his side are still to be beaten at home since his arrival, despite Charlton knocking them out of the Carling Cup on Wednesday night on penalties after a 1-1 draw, following extra time. The Blues boss also believed his charges won at Goodison Park last Sunday but the record shows that rock bottom Everton brought an end to their 100% start by holding them to a 1-1 draw. Now mid table Blackburn visit Stamford Bridge, and could feel the backlash of the two dropped points. Blues now cannot break Spurs' 11-match winning start to a top flight season, but they're gradually closing in on Arsenal's record 49-match unbeaten League run. Should the Londoners avoid defeat here, it would bring their sequence of undefeated games in the Premiership to 40.
# Roman Abramovich's club still have the strongest attack and the meanest defence in the Premiership, and are challenging for an eighth successive home top flight victory to extend their undefeated League sequence at the Bridge to 31 matches. A trip to Spain to face Real Betis in the Champions League next Tuesday, follows this.
# Blues have won their last three meetings with Rovers, but last season's 4-0 home win was Chelsea's first Premiership triumph over Blackburn in 11 attempts at the Bridge. The goals started flowing for Chelsea in that game last season when Eidur Gudjohnsen scored his first career hat-trick. When they met at Ewood Park in February, Petr Cech set a new Premier League record for not conceding a goal, eclipsing Peter Schmeichel's shut-out record of 694 minutes.
# BLACKBURN ROVERS run out in fine fettle. Their 3-0 dominance of Leeds in the Carling Cup midweek meant that they had won five of their last six in all competitions, and head for west London eager to present manager Mark Hughes with an early birthday present against one of the clubs he used to play for. Hughes is 42 on Tuesday.
# The Ewood Park club have only recorded one victory on the road all season, but that was 1-2 over Manchester United last month and a follow-up against another of the title contenders would be a massive boost to the club from the red rose county. But Rovers will need to be wary. Bolton committed the indignity of going in at the break with a 1-0 advantage over Chelsea in their last home League game and ended up conceding five goals in a second half blitz in the highest scoring Premiership match of the season so far.
# Rovers were 'doubled' by Chelsea last season, but have won five and drawn five of the previous 10 Premiership trips to the west London club.
