What kind of camera do you use?
I have used small digital camera of OLYMPUS for about two years, but I'm currently planning to purchase a digital reflex body.
My teacher of photography uses this one, and photos taken by this camera are so beautiful. I wish to have one of those, when I improve my skill to certain level..
If you use a digital reflex, give me some comments to refer!!
By the way, my teacher is from France, and he is looking for students in Tokyo and Saitama. He teaches in English or French. If you are interested in taking private photography cources, I recommend him **

There are a lot of things to consider when you buy a digital SLR, but ultimately I don't think it really matters to the quality of photos you take. You should buy whatever has the features you want and has the lens options that best match the types of photos you want to take. The different manufacturers specialize in different types of lenses, although they all offer basic lenses that cover the full range too. So really, unless you are a pro, this doesn't matter that much either. But you do have more choice with Canon and Nikon than some of the others.
I use a Canon Digital Rebel XT (they call this the Kiss N Digital in Japan, and the 350D elsewhere). I got it because I have just always had Canon and so I knew their lenses and accessories better than I knew lenses from other companies. But I am not one of those people that thinks people who buy Nikon are dumb just because I bought Canon (or vice versa). I hate that kind of thinking.

I just bought my Casio EX-P505 in February and am totally loving it. It's very small and I'm very satisfied with the quality of it. Currently I'm still learning the functions so that I can use it to the max. And I'm currently still looking around for lenses that may fit on it. It's so hard to find.
What I don't like about it is that it's so hard to find a camera pouch to fit it because of the shape.

If, you were going to use the camera, professionally, than you may have to choose between Canon or Nikon. They are the one of the only one that has professional model.
If you are not the person who are to take photos professionally than it would be all right with others as well.
Well the biggest question is that, what kind of pictures do you take; Portraits, landscapes, exotic scenes, snapsm, etc?
Every brand has each unique lenses and unique features to the camera. Those specifications allows each brands to have advantages and disadvantages between others.
If you could give us more clues, that would do great.
