初めて私がUrban Bush Womenを見たのは２００４年の夏、ワークショップとこの時のショーのテーマは、「選挙に行こう！！」でした。
Wiila Jo Zollarはこの時も、きっとその前も、いかに選挙に行くべきか、というメッセージを込めたパフォーマンスをして来ました。本当に敬意を表します！！

そして、今回、Obamaが大統領になったこの秋、アメリカン・モダン・ダンスとアフリカン・ダンスのコラボレーション！！

2008: Urban Bush Women - sassy strong relevant

Les écailles de la mémoire (The scales of memory) is an evening-length collaboration between choreographers Jawole Willa Jo Zollar and Germaine Acogny and their respective companies - the 7 women of Urban Bush Women and the 7 men of Compagnie JANT-BI of Senegal. This dance explores themes of resistance, memory and love and is the result of a three year inter-continental collaboration.
