Special Invitation for India Center Economic Forum (50 people)
The World Economy and Japan-India Global Partnership
-State of Gujarat, the Growth Engine of India-
Since the historic event of the official announcement of Japan-India Global Partnership in 2000, both governments are now vigorously promoting its mutual relations and economic cooperation. India Center has been continuously taking major initiatives to enhance further relationship between the two countries. The most dramatic example is Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC)- a State-Sponsored Project aimed at developing industrial zones and expanding infrastructure and industry, in which Japanese government had already signed an agreement for a railway construction between India¡Çs two major cities.
Gujarat – The Growth Engine of India, situated at the western part of the Indian subcontinent, is infused with the spirit of entrepreneurship. With the state¡Çs annual average growth of 13% in the last 3 years and India¡Çs average industrial growth of 9%, Gujarat is now gathering greater attention from all over the world. The government of Gujarat will host Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2009 on the upcoming January next year, in which Japan will show its eminent presence under the spotlight of Japan-India Global Partnership as a special invitee nation.
We have set an opportunity to invite delegation members from Gujarat, including Mr. M. Sahu, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, and business leaders representing Gujarat, and host the economic forum to provide communication platform for business leaders, policymakers and opinion leaders from Japan and abroad. We look forward to your participation in this forum, to promote further interaction and information exchange to know better about the emerging India as well as Gujarat, the growth engine of the state.
