I was just curious... does anybody have recommendations for Japanese classes in Tokyo/Saitama that aren't so expensive, but good for the needs of long term residents?
The big problem is... --> Universities are terribly expensive. --> I heard that some language schools have mostly Chinese students (who already know Kanji) so the lessons can be quite difficult for Western foreigners... (In my case, I can speak broken conversational Japanese, but can't write and can only read a bit, so my reading/writing and conversation level are VERY split.) --> There are cheap schools, but I heard some aren't so good... they're just for people to be able to get VISAS... not so serious curriculum.
I'm planning to attend the College of Business and Communication in Kawasaki from next April. It's reasonably priced, and seems to be a pretty good school. They have special kanji classes for people who don't come from China. Also they have 7 different class levels, so there's a better chance to get into the right level. Also they are open to letting you check out their classes if you're already in the country before you decide. You can just google it to find their website.
