Heaven’s End Remaster
Dear All,
For the past two days, I have attended the remastering of Heaven's End. You will be pleased to hear that all went very well, the original master tapes were in very good shape and with the aid of the genius who is Kevin Metcalfe, got everything to sound very ship shape for the cd reissue. It's probably never sounded so good.
So, for the reissue, a 2 cd set will be issued with Heaven's End on cd1, cd2 will feature the only true outtake from the H E sessions, Rocket USA. Also found from the archive are two different mixes of Soundhead and Head On which have never been released in any form before, two for the collectors there and rounded up with the first John Peel Session - Soundhead, Straight To Your Heart and Rocket USA.
I have tried to keep everything in these reissues relative to the time frame and situations they were developed in, chronologically speaking, so I hope you will forgive if some 'extra/bonus' material seems scant. But, in all truth, there really was not that much - we never did outtakes and the like, never had the time or the money for excessive studio times. But I can reassure you that all is being done to make everything that is there available and to sound the best it ever has for cd.
One find from the archive, thought lost a long time ago, is the original Loop demo, mastered on a Metal cassette. Our first ever recordings in a semi-decent studio, so for good or for bad, you will get to hear the original Brittle Head Girl - thought by many at the time to be superior to the Spinning version (I couldn't say) - and the original Burning World. Sadly, Head On is also on the cassette, but will not be able to be saved with all the technology in the world, it's too badly damaged. But there's probably too many bloody versions of that track anyhow....So, these wil be included on The World In Your Eyes volumes to follow

意外にも、Heaven’ｓEndと同時発売予定なのがFade Outなんだそうで、
The World In Your Eyesは２００９年にずれ込むそうです。
（・・・それよりも、本当に今年中に出るのか気になります。）
私は先日アルバム未収録のSinnamon Girlが聴きたくて、
ヤフオクでThe Bridge:A Tribute To Neil Young落札したんですが、
これも、今後再発されるボートラには収録予定ですね。

Remaster update
Dear All,
Fade Out has now been remastered - again sounding very good too!
A full track listing will follow shortly, but I'm just waiting on some tapes to be baked, to see what I can salvage for bonus material.
Again, the reissue will be a two cd set, with Fade Out on CD1, CD2 will include 2nd Peel Session and hopefully 3 maybe 4 different mixes of Fade Out material.
There were some 5 demos of Fade Out recorded at The House In The Woods studio, but I'm afraid the master tape of these has long since disappeared, I can't even track down a cassette copy. There appears to be two surviving demos - This Is Where You End, on a different small tape reel and Pulse, which was used for a give away 7" with the Sniffin Rock magazine. For this we will have to master from the 7" and try to make the best of it.
Sorry....doing what I can here.
Heaven's End and Fade Out will be issued on the same day, sometime in October as far as we can tell.
The World In Your Eyes set will be early in 2009, we are waiting for the Loopflesh track master to appear for that.

REACTOR present the long out of print albums by Loop remastered from the original analogue sources.
These two releases will be released on the same day, scheduled October 08 release.
They will be housed in a Mini Vinyl style card sleeve, which reproduce the original artwork which has been slightly modified to fit the gatefold format and including inner bags for both discs.
All due care has been taken to release everything that is available to us in some chronological order, sadly a couple of tapes have been too badly damaged or lost to make a complete edition, but these will be the definitive editions...there won't be any 'special editions' to rip you off with, that's a promise.
As for vinyl, it is planned to do a limited run of 180g pressings, but these will only be repros of the original lps without the bonus material.
The bonus material will only be available on the Compact Disc issues and not for digital downloads, mainly because of the costs of having to pay ungodly rates on the Peel Sessions.
So, the Compact Disc issues will be unique in their own right.
More to follow next year.

I can finally reveal that Reactor have struck a deal with Beggar's Banquet that will allow us to reissue A Gilded Eternity and Arc-Lite as part of the ongoing Reactor remastering program.
All three Arc-Lite mixes (Sonar, Radar & Radiated) and Sunburst will be available on the forthcoming The World In Your Eyes compilation and A G E will follow the pattern of a 2 disc set, completely remastered from the original analogue tapes.
Disc one : A G E
Disc two : 3rd Peel Session, The complete A G E House In The Woods Demo, Shot With A Diamond - The Nail Will Burn free 7" and possibly 2/3 alternate mixes.
Both The World In Your Eyes and A Gilded Eternity will be released early 2009.

All re-mastered from the original sources with the exception of Collision/Crawling Heart/Thief Of Fire/Thief (Motherfucker), sadly due to the original masters going AWOL - or I suspect, STOLEN.
But, they still sound a damn sight better on CD than they did, so not all is lost.
Same with Pink Moon and Cinnamon Girl - they have also suffered the same fate, but as in everything, you can't have it always your own way.
Still waiting on the Like Rats master, but we are told that it's safe - just 'somewhere'...
and NO! Justin Broadrick does not play on it.
Spinning parts 1 & 2 are the edits of the split side 7" - we wanted to sound like Television Little Johnny Jewel crossed with Fripp on Heroes...bless us in our naivety.
Arc-Lite (Radiated) is from the original 7" B-Side - Daniel Miller wanted us to sound more like NEU!... bless him in his belief.
Head On from the 1st Loop demo was beyond saving, due to damage to the master - but how many more versions of that fucker do you need?

因みにHMVでは配送時期が11月17日ですが、
こちらは￥3.177で輸入盤3枚購入のマルチバイ価格でやっと￥2.592と少し高いのですが
amazonのはUS盤、HMVはUK盤なんですよね。

そのUK盤を販売しているHMV.JAPANでは11月発売と記載されてますが、
「お取り寄せ - 通常ご注文後 7-15 日以内に入荷します」との事なので
おそらくAmazonと変わりないように思われます。
更新されたブログを見るとRobert自身も出来栄えに満足してるようなので

Thanks everyone for the nice feedback and general all round goodness with regards to the re-issues so far.
I'm sorry if I've not replied to the more personal messages, but I hope this covers everything and everyone.
I have to say that I'm very, very happy (surely not???) with the new editions of Heaven's End and Fade Out - you finally get to hear the real THUNK of HE and the VAST n FAST SIZZLE of FO, thanks to better technology and the pristine ears of Kevin Metcalfe.
I hope they cover all aspects to please yer ears with the extras and Peels, and I think the replica vinyl sleeves looking pretty fucking spiffy too - thanks to the talents of the divine Ms Bex, cheers m'dear.
My undying thanks are forever laid at the feet of the sublime Simon Keeler of Forte, for finally instilling in me the get up and go for doing these - I'm a very hard man to please.
But, with a passion and persistence, he talked me round and we managed to kill quite a few pints along the way - you are a gentleman of the highest calibre sir.

Music is love...(apologies to Crosby)
Thanks everyone for the nice feedback and general all round goodness with regards to the re-issues so far.
I'm sorry if I've not replied to the more personal messages, but I hope this covers everything and everyone.
I have to say that I'm very, very happy (surely not???) with the new editions of Heaven's End and Fade Out - you finally get to hear the real THUNK of HE and the VAST n FAST SIZZLE of FO, thanks to better technology and the pristine ears of Kevin Metcalfe.
I hope they cover all aspects to please yer ears with the extras and Peels, and I think the replica vinyl sleeves looking pretty fucking spiffy too - thanks to the talents of the divine Ms Bex, cheers m'dear.
My undying thanks are forever laid at the feet of the sublime Simon Keeler of Forte, for finally instilling in me the get up and go for doing these - I'm a very hard man to please.
But, with a passion and persistence, he talked me round and we managed to kill quite a few pints along the way - you are a gentleman of the highest calibre sir.

60年代のサイケデリック・ロックを超越したヘヴィなトリップ音響を現代に叩きつけるループ。
86年にロンドンで結成され、これまでに3枚のアルバム（Heaven's End､The World In Your Eyes、Fade Out）と1枚のコンピレーションLPをリリースしている。
先頃Chapter22を離れ、Situation Twoと契約した彼らは12インチ「Arc-Lite」をリリース、4thアルバムはダニエル・ミラーをプロデューサーに迎えて90年代初頭に（国内盤は2/25アルファから）発売される予定。
ヴェルヴェッツ、ストゥージーズ、カン、ノイなどの影響を漂わせつつもこうした前時代的音楽を90年代に向けて更新する未来派サイケ・バンド、ループのインタヴューをお届する。

ペイズリーの服とかWater Lightとか意識して避けてるみたいですね？
ロバート（以下R):前にはそういうライトとか使ったこともあったけど、
今は全く使ってない。そんなのつまんないし、でもペイズリーの服は家に帰れば
2、3着あるけどそういう服なんかは全く関係ないと思う。
いろいろなバンドも着てるし、いろいろな人が着てると思うから。
俺たちがそういうイメージがあるとは思えない。
たぶん俺たちのはロングヘアーに黒い服とかそういうんだろう。
でも俺たちはずっとロングヘアーだったし、ここ数年ずっと黒い服ばっかりだよ。

R:たぶん、Sonic YouthとかBig Black、あと Swansとかそういったバンドだと思う。俺がLoopを結成する前に一番影響を受けたのがこういったバンドだからなあ。それに俺はMark Stewartとか Tack Headとかの Adrian Sherwoodが関係してるのはみんな好きなんだ。だからそういったものの影響は否定しない。
あとStoogesとかMc5とか60年代のいろいろな Detroitのバンドについて言われる
ことにも全くこだわらない。でも俺たちのはもっと近代的だろう？
彼らのレコードを聴いた後、俺たちのを聴けば分かると思う。
俺たちは常に進歩しようとしてるし絶対に過去のことは振り返らない。
プレスの奴らは俺たちが退行的だなんて言ってるようだけど、
そんなことは絶対にない。あっ、あともう１つLoveの作品にも影響されてる、
Arthur Leeは天才だと思う。他にもKubrukとかの映画関係の人にも影響されてる。必ずしも音楽関係だけじゃない。
＿＿ワウワウペダルの使用が顕著ですがいつ頃から使ってるんですか？
R:よく思い出せないけど、最初にStoogesとかジミヘンのレコードを聴いた時だったと思う。俺は前にベースを弾いてたんだけど、ベースだとワウワウペダルを通して弾くのが難しくてね、でもギターはいま弾き初めて3、4年経ったけど初めからワウワウペダルを使ってる。理由は特別なくてただ単にその音が好きなだけ。
最近またはやりだしてるけど、いいことだと思う。だってあの音はいい。
でも何人かの奴らはただつっ立って、”ワウワウワウワウワウ”なんてやってるだけで他に何もやってない。俺はStoogesとかよりも静かに操作した方がいいと思う。ワウワウペダルはすごい、最高だ。でも俺は1年位前からフランジャーとかフェイザーの音も好きなんだ。たぶんサイケデリックって言われてた奴らに影響されたんだと思う。そういうギターサウンドは大好きだ、シンセサイザーの何倍もいい。俺はシンセサイザーが大嫌いでね、あんなの全く感情が込もってない、

Jesus&Mary Chainなんか典型的だと思う。奴らはただ有名人になりたいだけ。
今のインディーバンドのほとんどはメジャーと契約したとたんに頭が狂ってしまった。もう完璧にバカまるだし。そういうバンドは音楽シーンの中心にいる自分たちを見て、結局自分たちが嫌ってたバカなチャートバンドといっしょになってしまったことを嘆くはめになってる。
でも俺たちは大丈夫、俺たちはただ自分たちがやりたい音楽をやるだけ、チャートになんか入りたいと思わないし、望むことは他の2、3のバンドにもそうあって欲しいってことだけ。
＿＿ファンの人たちに言いたいことはありますか？
R：うーん、自分の好きな音楽を嫌ってるような奴と言い争ったりしないで自分自身の心で判断した方がいい。ただライブに行って1人で楽しめ。自分ですべて判断して他の奴らのことなんかかまうな。なんかえらそうなこと言っちゃたな。

俺は愛と平和の人じゃないけど、俺は暴力的な事は好きだし、でも無意味でバカらしい暴力はやめた方がいい。暴力的ってことは.......エネルギーだ。
お前がロングヘアーだからとかそんなことでからかわれても、そいつらをぶちのめしたりするのはまぬけだぞ。そんなの本当にあわれだ。そんなことが今だにあるっていうのがこわい。俺はCroydon（ロンドン南部）に住んでるんだけど、そこは妙にみんな団結してて、俺がガールフレンドとか友達と静かに飲める所は、いわゆるバイカーの連中が集まってるパブ１つしかない。他の所だと、「おー、兄ちゃん髪の毛長くて女みてえだなあ。」とかバカやろうどもが大声でやじってくる。俺はたぶんそいつらそいつらよりも筋肉もあったと思うし、だいたい奴らは俺がでっけえちんぽ持ってるもんで嫉妬してるだけだ、奴らのなんか指先ぐらいしかねえ。ハハハ、こんなこと書かないでくれよ。まあその日は本当にいやな気分だったってこと。そんなところかな。

Good quality recording that appears to be from the soundboard. The band were touring the 'Fade Out' LP at the time, but the final song 'Breathe Into Me' would appear on their next (and final) album 'A Gilded Eternity'. 'Mother Sky' is a cover of a song by Can and 'Thief of Fire' was originally by The Pop Group
