---English Version: Re: NEW Asian Art Course FALL 2012
Dear Students,
LaGuardia Community College is pleased to announce that a new Asian Art course, HUA191: the Art of Eastern Asia is being offered this Fall 2012.
It is designed partly around Asian Art in NYC, and will explore the artistic traditions of India, China, and Japan. From Dancing Shiva to Chinese Silk Scrolls to LOUIS VUITTON show windows. Students will explore elements of Asian visual expression, and discuss its socio-political impact on the History of Art globally.
This is an Asian Art History class with many field trips and even some studio art experiments.
Through our museum visits, we will experience "behind-the-scene" at some of the most prominent Asia-specific organizations in the United States.
Pre- and co-requisites can be waived for the first time course offering (Fall I 2012), so anyone can register this fall.
Please spread the word and let your friends know that this course is available. The course code is HUA191.1150. and, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ASIAN TO EXPERIENCE ASIAN ART!
We highly appreciate your support.
