Is pokemon still popular?
I actually had played not only GB but card game since they appeared but I quitted when I was 15 and know nothing.

My brother loves playing Pokemon on his Nintendo DS, and he has got quite a lot of the games too. Once he played the card game and I used to sit and watch the anime together with him.
I like the older seasons the best. I think the stories in the new seasons are somewhat boring and something that has already been told before.

I envy him for having a teddy Pikachu, it'sso cute (*o*

I'm the one just recently rediscover fun of pokemon and yes itz still extremely popular all around the globe. Not only among kids but grown ups also play nowadays. I saw the news telling some new kind of pokemon game has come up and itz seemingly called Pokemon garden or something.
The reason why pokemon has gotten this popular is that pokemon serves as a perfect pet at hand. You can nurture and fight and do lotz of things in the game. Irresitable affection towards pokemon you keeps you know.
No wonder pokemon has dominated kidz world despite other new games coming up.

I played the Pokemon Trading Card Game and earned all 16 badges before they changed the rating system!

I did quit playing after that. It helped me get into Magic: the Gathering, though. That's an even better game than Pokemon, I believe. It is also international. I have cards printed in English, Japanese, traditional Chinese, German, and even Italian and Spanish.

Japanese pop culture is quite compelling, I think.

Which character do you like the best??

I never got interested in pocketmon either in Japan or in US where I used to live.
But looking at my 4 yr old son(mixed with Japanese /Jamaican/British), it apparently has some appeal to children.
Now he is crazy about all the characters of pocketmon, and I have to remember them and play on it. ....

Pokemon... Makes me feel nostalgic.

When i was younger i really liked it. I watched the cartoons and i played the games on my gameboy (yes, i collected all 150!).

I might have even collected the cards, not to play with them but just to collect.

I'm not sure why i liked it so much. Maybe because the idea of an underdog progressing appealed to me. Also, i guess the idea that your pet could do special attacks was very cool!

I wish my dog could do some nice moves.. All she can do is sleep, like a snorlax!

My favourite pokemon would probably be snorlax, because he was always sleeping. I LOVE SLEEP!

It's been on tv long time in the UK...I watched it when I was in school. I played the nintendo game too and collected the cards, but I can't remember much about it now.
I think like DBZ, the characters probably have slightly different names in english to japanese version.

Even though im 18, I still play Pokemon games.. I do not like the TV show though...

I love all RPGs, but Pokemon-type RPGs are really fun~
