I think you should stay with what you know, so just talk about something you're interested in. Sometimes people try to be too clever with their speeches. They try to come across as an intellectual or something. I personally think the best speeches, the ones that people really engage with have a humorous element.
You could do a speech on why people who enter speech competitions can't get a girlfriend.

They can't have relationship with other people verry well compare to young people before PC & ｹｰﾀｲ become popular.On the other hand, hey want to be connected to someone.They don't want to be alone at uni,some students have had their lunch at toilet because they don't other students to see them eating alone.
