Hey
I haven't decided yet but i'm thinking about going to Japan on Sunday or Monday for a 8-10 days.
i Will be visiting and staying with a mate in Osaka for a few days but want to visit tokyo to see some DJ's but to be honest, i have no idea about Tokyo since i normally visit Osaka.
I'm just wondering...where are some decent hotels in Tokyo? What kind of prices are they, I'm happy with 14,000yen - 20-000yen per night. I plan to visit Ageha and Womb and preferably some minimal clubs but also i want to do a hell of a lot of shopping as well!

recomendations are extremely appreciated
Thanks in Advance

Sounds like you may want to stay around Shibuya.
For that price range I am sure you can get something nice.

I may be silly but ... if you read Japanese, they are a bunch of sites to look for / book hotels.
if you don't expedia for instance is always a good place to start ;-)

cheers
I usually just stay in Meguro now, where my friend owns a bar. But when I was a young buck lol...

I used to go to a lot of techno (DnB actually). Womb, Club Asia, etc
events in Shibuya/Aoyama. You definitely want to shell out the extra yen
to stay where you don't have to take a taxi during train shut down hours.

I stayed at this one adjacent to Shibuya station. Was nice and fits your
budget. Have to walk around the station to get to Womb/"Center Gai" club
area but easily doable.

The shuttle, baby, the shuttle ;)
if you were not shy, I would suggest some places in Dogen Zaka, nice hotel really.
Wow, cheers for the advice guys! it's much appreciated. once i get back home to England tomorrow morning I'll be booking my flight Saturday night. Prices are pretty cheap at the moment which is always a bonus (£460)

So shinjuku is where the base-heads go....sounds good. I'm planning on getting pretty wasted since i haven't touched a drop of alcohol for the last 3 months so if anyone sees an English guy, wondering around lost, smashed off his face reaching for the lasers...then please take him back to the nearest Base speaker! haha. Can't wait!!!

One bit of advice to everyone....Don't come to Afghanistan!!

Lotsa fun to have here.

Shinjuku (kabukicho), Shibuya, Roppongi are the main spots for foreign party folks.
My recommendation

good luck

There are some clubs in Shinjyuku. Not sure if they still exist but CODE and
LIQUID ROOM had techno events in Shinjyuku. Went to an insane psytrance/house/happycore party at LIQUIDROOM way back around 98 with Yoji Biomehanika. Yes, I'm
old lol.
***apparently Liquidroom moved to Ebisu, which is just a couple stops from
Shibuya.

But since you are already planning on WOMB (Shibuyua) + Ageha (Shinkiba),
I'd suggest staying right in Shibuya where there is a good concentration of
clubs. Shinjyuku is only a couple train stops from Shibuya. Shinkiba you can
get to by subway.

Also here's one site that has techno, etc event listing in English

Japan has awesome big events but lots of great small events too. Have fun!
Hey
U r going to WOMB! Cool. Actually I often go there and think their sound is really nice. I LOVE it. U should go there on Friday or Saturday. There are lotta foreigners like u.
Have fun ya
I stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel in Ikebukuro last month :),

It's pretty easy to get to from Ikebukuro Station and nice too.

★Curious-George★さん, I concur on the Toyoko Inn as a place to stay within your budget. :)

Hilton tokyo would be highly recommended.I visited there as my friends wedding. If i invited my friends from over sea, definitely recommend to stay the hotel.
good atmosphere, location on the central tokyo Shinjyuku city must be confortable.
Check this.
You can find cheap hotels like these in an area which is close to the slum areas, e.g., Sanya(山谷) in Tokyo or Nishinari(西成) in Osaka.
