I find men's fashion in Japan to be very interesting. Anyone know any resources where I could learn more about it?

I suggest watching current Japanese drama tv shows. I think that a lot of the mainstream fashion trends are heavily influenced by these shows. You can download bittorrent shows from d-addicts. Most of them either have subtitles available or are "hard subbed" with subtitles in a variety of languages as well.

Well, I can see some of the latest fashion just by walking around on the weekend. I'm interested in learning more about the various styles.
What are they called? They all seem to be women's
Depends on your age and taste. If you want to go for someting young and cutting edge, or something cool, or more sophisticated.
Japanese male fashion is known in most other countries as women's fashion.
read MEN'S KNUCKLE and MEN'S EGG!!
both magazines shows the best way to style yourself hahhaha
i love that bikerstyle~
too good.
hahha
maybe i am still young. thats why, i love that fashion XD

they look a bit gay. long hair and skinny jeans with a handbag. thats like wtf a whole young nation of fags or wat lol
hey heeey >.<
they look really cute!
there are many girls who prefer such style at guys XD
hahah i am one of them and holy crap yeeeah they get so many cute girls where other boy dreamin about!
It's no worse than back home, depending on where you go.

I feel the "rugged" look a lot of em go for is a bit ott, but some of the other styles are pretty cool.

Any stuff in english by any chance? ^_^;;
i like the 'B系'style like in アメ村 of Osaka. similar to wat we wear in london. hoodies, large jeans, fresh nike kicks etc :D

oh yeeeah i also love やまんば系 hahaha so funny to watch
I like the general (city) style Japanese men wear. It is interesting and cute/attractive and shows they can take care of themselves.

Better than the typical style of Canadian men.

they have such a great face and i love their black eyes!!! >.<
I recommend you to read a magazine named KAZIKAZI.

It's a used fashion magazine.

Maybe I think it is the most famous magazine.
I love the long hair that a lot of young guys sport here. Yeah Men's Knuckle and Men's Egg are a good place to start for learning about men's fashion and Men's Egg is overall a pretty entertaining magazine to read (aside from just fashion) if you can read Japanese. A lot of women buy it as well (I'm not kidding...the girls usually just want the pics of hot guys though, haha). Those two magazines may seem a little more on the extreme side but if you look closely, you'll see a lot of subtle similarities between their fashion and the more toned down fashion that's a little more commonplace in the streets.

But one Japanese men's fashion I can't stand is "Ora-Ora Kei." Well the girl's version is fine but I find most of the men who do that style to be really ANNOYING. They are like "yankii" with cars instead of bikes and way less cool than yankii. Most of them are always trying to show off how tough they are and they try to pick fights with gyaru-o assuming that a gyaru-o won't fight back and then they sorta pussy out once they realize that the guy isn't scared of them.

Well I don't like the Men's Non-no style either but that's mostly just because I don't like the way it looks.

If you wanna search on the internet, here are some fashion terms you can look up:

お兄系 (O-nii kei, popular style for men in their early-mid 20s. It's sort of a crossroads between host style, gyaru-o, and visual kei/rock style, but for some reason, onii-kei dudes might get kinda pissed if you call them one of those other styles instead)
サーフ系 (Surf kei, commonly mistaken for gyaru-o because of the long hair and dark skin, there can be quite a lot of crossover but not all surf-kei look like that)
ギャル男 (Gyaru-o, sometimes written ギャル汚 as a joke. A lot of the stuff on the internet in English about this style is very outdated though. The style looks very "rock" these days.)
ホスト系 (Host style...those hairstyles are amazing!)
B系 (hip-hop style. Technically B-kei is for hip-hop dancers--b-boys--but sometimes those guys who just pose off of American hip-hop clothes but can't dance at all get mistakenly called this style too)
文系 (it's hard to explain this one but most of the people around Shimokitazawa are this style)
I don't think GYARU men are necessarily a perfect example of the AVERAGE man's fashion in Japan. What kinda fashion were you talking about??? This is a broad category!
