I posted this as part of another thread but just wanted to make sure it got seen. Very relevant issues.

There are those who say that Hillary has more experience and that
Obama does more talking than he does getting things done...he is a
wonderful orator. Let the Congressional Record speak!

Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and
another year campaigning,
has managed to author and pass into law 20 - twenty pieces of
legislation in her first six
years.

These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress
www.thomas.loc.gov,
but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.

1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.

2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.

3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.

5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.

6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.

7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.

8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition
Day.

9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the
bicentennial of his death.

10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on
winning the championship.

11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on
winning the championship.

12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution
Commemorative Program.

13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.

14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express
condolences on her death.

15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters
who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton 's bills are, more
substantive.

16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.

17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11

18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.

19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.

20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as
protected in the
wilderness preservation system.

There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive,
so I'll mainly
categorize.

During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored
over 820 bills.
He introduced

233 regarding healthcare reform,

125 on poverty and public assistance,

112 crime fighting bills,

97 economic bills,

60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,

21 ethics reform bills,

15 gun control,

6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and
co-sponsored another 427. These inculded
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law,
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons
Threat Reduction
Act, - became law,
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law,
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In
committee, and many more.

In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890
bills and
co-sponsored another 1096.

An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record
according to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made
public.

He's not just a talker.
He's a doer.

Yea, I think that even though Hillary has more experience that doesn't necessarily mean she will do any better than Obama. We already have a president who had "experience" and he hasn't done shit, in my humble opinion.

The primary votes for Texas is coming up soon on March 4th, and I need to do some more research before I firmly decide on who I will vote for.
"Experience" doesn't automatically equal "ability." That's where her argument falls flat.

I used to work in the state legislature here in Washington state, and there were a lot of legislators who had been there for quite a few years, and though they had "experience," they were pretty much dim-bulbs.

One of the guys I used to work with, Rep. Dave Upthegrove, was a also legislative aide at the same time I was there. Now he's one of the youngest reps in the state house and yet blows the ever-lovin' shit out of most of the other reps. So much for the argument on "experience."

I'd much rather have a guy who doesn't have a ton of political experience ("political" being used as a pejorative term to its greatest extent) with one hell of a free mind than Hillary's argument any day.

By the way, in case you haven't seen it...
Regarding Hillary's charge on Obama about plagiarism:
"[T]hat isn't change you can believe in, it's change you can Xerox."

Indeed:

I know the above post is rather long... but I really can`t understand how the data above would not sway someone to consider Obama as the best candidate. This guy is Legit. If elected he would have enough advisers around him with experience to "advise" him when needed. How can you have change when America keeps electing the same kinds of people. Hilary = Bill in a skirt. He will be the "first Man?" and right back in the white house. What they ought to do is work together and decide that who ever wins will appoint the other as vice president. Now that would be some historic shit.
Exactly! That's what I've been telling my friends. Hillary and Bill come as a packaged deal, and we've already had that crap.
Sorry but I think Bill Clinton did one hell of a job. The economy was great and there was no war for the full 8 years he was in office. When Bush senior was in office before Bill, we had all kinds of problems and a war. After Bill left office and George Jr. took office we have had all kinds of problems and a war. Bill's 8 years of prosperity and peace compared to the father and son before and after him makes it obvious that he did a great job.

Honestly, I don't care which candidate (Obama or Clinton) makes it to the primaries, just as long as one of them wins. I'm tired of war mongering, big business supporting republicans that only care for the super wealthy controlling this country.
I believe a large part of Clinton's failing is she is not being herself. In her campaign to help health care when she was the first lady, she SOUNDED kind hearted. She sounded like a woman.

Now she is trying to come off as a tough woman, but all she she is achieving is image similar to an angry mother.

And it seems that EVERYONE either has only short term memory or ADD, because anyone who can remember President Clinton will tell you, he was a talker. That is what he was good at, being charismatic. His achievements prior to becoming president were not very notable.

That's my two cents
Wow, I'm so glad everyone else on here is pro-Obama. Good post, Tokyo.
Anyone who can wear a cowboy hat this well gets my vote!
Personally I'm for Obama, but my thinking on Hillary is, eight years of Clinton were frankly pretty good for the country, and she can't be that much worse.

However, I really dislike the "dynastic" direction America's going, and I really don't want to see 20 years of presidents with only two last names. So that's part of it as well.

McCain, actually, would also have been my choice among republicans. So it doesn't feel like we're doing that bad here. If it turns out we've gotta have a republican, at least we get one who can see that fucking torture is a bad idea. ボケーっとした顔
Hopefully watched the big debate today. It seems that Clinton was very angry, according to multiple news sites.パンチ
Ben - I second that. She was just really ticked for no reason - unless you consider the reason being that Obama is ahead, but not by a huge margin.

She was complaining about having gotten the first question, and she was just plain crazy normally. Obama played it cool, as usual.
