There are foreigners by the bucketloads in Roppongi.. or so I hear, anyway. I'm foreign and I can't stand the place. Your mileage may vary.
Apart from that, we're all over!
That is, around most any station there's likely to be a bar or two that foreigners frequent, usually because of the atmosphere. I can give you three off the top of my head:
"What the Dickens" (Ebisu)
I haven't been there for ages, but it used to have more foreigners than Japanese most nights. Great place, but I don't go there much because they have live music every night and it's hard to talk.
"Footnik" (Ebisu, and there are others I think)
Soccer-themed bar. Always tons of foreigners any time there's an important game on.
"Black Lion" (Meguro)
I've only been a few times, but I have a bunch of friends who love this place. Very British.
Hope that helps, maybe others can mention the places they know well.
You'll find tons of foreigners in Roppongi. Around Roppongi Hills, you've got the Oak Door bar, Heartland, etc. In Roppongi (outside the hills), hit a sports bar and you'll easily find foreigners. Legends, Hobgoblins. Other than sports bars, go anywhere like 911, Gas Panic, Wallstreet, etc.
yeah Roppongi is all about foreigners, in some bars the personnel doesn't even speak Japanese xD But I think that a lot of those place also got foreigners looking for a cheap score. If you're looking for a decent conversation I wouldn't recommend it really ^^;;
If you just want to have a sit and drink while talking to some foreigners, maybe Irish and British pubs are a good choice. I assume you live in Tokyo, almost each part of Tokyo does at least have 1 (or sometimes 4) Hub, which is a British pub with about half foreigners and half Japanese. I met a lot of Japanese in these kind of bars, its easy to talk there, a club is nice to find a date, but hard to really get a conversation.
Travel guides for foreigners usually have a decent list of Bars, including description if it's popular with foreigners and expats.
For myself, I think I'd only like roppongi for crazy night's out, other then that I'd rather find a pub in Shibuya where I can strike a decent conversation while enjoying a pint of Kirin ^^
Roppongi, there is a new bar in Midtown - can't remember the name but it's pretty much like a mini Heartland. Not a great place, but drinks are reasonably priced. I prefer Oak Door by far. Just an FYI.
In Azabu Juban, there is Juban Stand. Local Jubanians have a drink or two before heading home. Theme - I don't know.
Hi, I work at Shinjuku, very close to
2-chome...gay town, actually.
Well, I see a lot of foreigners there everyday,
and every friday night some bar has party!
It's like a open cafe style bar so you'll notice
without any map.
If you take guys friend, just watch out!
