I have heard that professional chefs/cooks often play a game where they ask each other "if you were going to die later today and could only eat one meal between now and then, what would you eat?"
Interesting, most do not choose expensive or rare foods like lobster or caviar, but instead choose some form of food that they had in their homes when growing up.
So, if you could only have one more meal, what would you choose for your last meal?
hello!
I always eat my meal as my last meal in my life. everything i eat are special.
but if it is really the last time, i would like to have my last meal with someone special..
I'd probably pick some kind of comfort food too, nothing expensive... something that reminds me of good times, and home. I'm thinking a nice neapolitan pizza from Lombardi's, or a huge 1/2 pound hamburger from Cozy Soup 'n Burger (these are both little dives in NYC). Of course I'd want someone special to share it with too.
I'd have something that my mom cooks. I love my wife and like whatever she cooks, but quite honestly, nothing beats the good old home meal my mom would always fix me.
Reading all your comments made me think what I should cook for my children-a mother's role is important, isn't it? I personally will choose some kind of rice for it is filling.
I'd like to eat Nikujaga(Japanese food) my mom cooks.
My mom is a good cook, and I love Nikujaga best she cooks.
Oh...I'd like to eat it now thanks to writing this comment. :)
To me, the "ofukuro no aji" (mom's home meal) has always been something special. I could go to one of the five-star restaurants in town and still not get half as much satisfaction as I did when she cooked my favourite okonomiyaki (Japanese-style pancakes) and fried rice. :)
