Since I was last living in Tokyo (2 years ago) it has changed a lot. So my question to you is...
Where's the best place to go out in Tokyo?
I'm talking an all round package - a place where you can go somewhere decent and reasonable to eat/drink, then a club where you're guaranteed to have a good time. I don't mean just an area, but actual names of bars/clubs...
Does it have to be Tokyo? Because I know a pretty good place in Yokohama: Stoves (http://stovesyokohama.com/)
Their food is excellent, their music is good, and they have half-price beer everyday from 12:00-17:00. Plus, the people who work there and the crowd the place draws are really cool and laid back. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk there from the Sotetsu Exit of Yokohama station...
Otherwise, if you like live, acoustic music, there is Tenmado in Yotsuya (http://www.fourvalley.co.jp/tenmado/). They have shows everyday, drinks are 500yen, and overall it has a pretty cool atmosphere.
I guess it all depends on the type of atmosphere you are looking for though...
Appreciation for those suggestions. Will head down to Yotsuya (or Yokohama) when I next get a chance. In terms of atmosphere it depends on the evening. Sometimes I'm happy with a laid back place where you can chat, take it easy and maybe listen to live music. Sometimes (usually after the laid back place) I want to go hardcore - clubs, dancing, all the rest...
Good clubs are hard to find. They're either extortionate, too beats heavy or full of scum. Still hunting...
