I wonder if any of you have anything you consider to be a personal motto or maybe a proverb or a quote you use which holds great meaning for you.
I love kotowaza so I have 100s. One of my favourites which I have written in texta on one of my many sticks, a hanbo in this case is an old African proverb; "Speak softly, carry a big stick, you will go far". I think this was also used and is often attributed to President Roosevelt.
Another personal fav, is Japanese; "hana ha sakuragi, hito ha bushi" I've heard a lot of different translations of this but the one I like most is; "like the cherry blossom the samurai falls (acts) without hesitation"
I like
Qué será, será./God will know
It's Japanese saying, and I think it came from the title fo the song.
I tend to worry a lot of things what I shouldn't worry, and it makes things worse,so I always put this saying in my mind.
"Ino naka no kawazu taikai wo sirazu, saredo sora no aosa wo siru." JAPANESE
I suppose there are a lot of interpretation of this, but
mine is that you'd better live with different kinds of perception and you get to know it by getting out of your home (town, country, any environment). However only knowing that there is another world outside makes things different, even though you stay in the same place all the way.
"Life is about doing useless stuff to the fullest leaving no regrets behind"
And, I don't agree with this one, but this is interesting since many world leaders practice this :
"Better to wrong the world than have it wrong me!" ~ Cao Cao
