So okay, i know lots of people talk about yasukuni, but what do you guys think? If you could describe your point of view in only 2 sentences. Yes, 2 sentences. Keeping in mind that Yasukuni houses war criminals, and it has literature that says that Japan was "forced" into WW2 by the west. I actually really want to hear what people who support yasukuni think.

Here's my two sentences.

It's not a big deal, lots of countries make mistakes. Stop pretending like WW2 wasn't a bad thing, remove the freaking war criminals, and lets all drink happonsyu together under the cherry blossoms.

100% agree with you. My two sentences, please look and try to do like Germany, they did a lot after world war II to fix what they broke. Now they are fighting against wars and nazi!
Here's my two sentences. Remove war criminals from Yasukuni. That'll make a lot more people happy.
"Nullum crimen, nulla poena sine praevia lege poenali."
(No crime, no punishment without a previous penal law)

This principle has been incorporated into international criminal law, which prohibits the creation of ex post facto (retroactive) laws.....

All the convicts were tried under ex post facto laws (Crimes against Peace, Crimes against Humanity), which makes the whole thing ridiculous.

Besides that, all so-called "War Criminals" were acquitted by a decision of the parliament in 1953. Therefore, there are no "War Criminals" in Japan.

Post tenebras lux!!!! In latin it means ゙after the darkness comes the brightness゙. It's a Geneva's saying and it is on our flag (Geneva). Hope this saying will be true for Japan as well.
Today's heroes can be thought of as yesterday's war criminals in the future. Hindsight is 20/20.
Yakusuni short gut reaction:

who cares! ヘ(_ _ヘ)☆\( ̄∀ ̄*)
remove the war criminals and no longer gloss over what happened. japan should admit its miss-deeds and take a similar stance to that of former nazi germany.
Japan has very publicly admitted past misdeeds, in some cases many times (including monetary comphensations).

It isn't necessary for all subsequent generations to be ojigi'ing for eternity, but there could be more acknowledgement in the education system.
