Dear my beloved friends,
These last couple months have been a whirlwind of so many farewells and goodbyes. The outpouring and flow of love has been an incredible experience, and unforgettable high! I am so grateful to know each and everyone of you, and treasure all that we have shared. I will miss Tokyo, and I will miss all of you dearly, but the love will just keep on flowing. Its been wonderful to have so many `lasts` to celebrate, as if every day is truly a holiday (a `holy` day, a sacred moment in
time) that it is!
Its exciting for me to take this jump into the unknown, a bit of an adventure for the soul! Life is short, and there is much to experience and discover, we should all live our bliss, whatever it is. All I know is that something is calling me, and I can no longer resist this urge to travel. I look forward to returning to Tokyo in Nov. for about 10 days for several very special events. And I will also be back again in December, for our end of year show.
To all Devadasi dancers, I leave you now with confidence knowing that you are in the best of care with our excellent team of teachers, Nourah, Hayati, Sali, Wakako, Anaan and I welcome our wonderful new teachers Yaliel, and Mallina, as well as Aysel who will be returning in fall. Also, JJ Rohina, Yuuri, and Miho who are leading our new yoga program. Over 20years ago, I started Bellydancing and Yoga around the same time, and I found them to be a perfect complimentary match that added great balance to my life. I encourage you to try the yoga classes in addition to your dance lessons, as you just might feel the same.
I would like to send out a special mention of love and gratitude to Nourah, bright shining light in our bellydance world. I have worked with Nourah for many years, and she has taught since the opening of the studio, over the years I have watched her grow into the beautiful artist that she is, and its an honor to have her as our head instructress of Devadasi studio. The many classes she is now offering
will give more of you an opportunity to experience and learn the wide
range of styles that are her specialties.
As creative director, I will continue working closely with the teachers, and Samanyolu, with the help of my dear assistants Mavi and Wakako.
Id like to thank all of you for being a part of our creative, and loving Devadasi community, watching each of you blossom as dancers has given meaning to my life`s work, and I am humbled by your great beauty. Lets continue to tap into this infinite source of beauty and love from within and share it out to our world.
I look forward to seeing you again later this year, until then
keep dancing
and shining your light out to the world
