I was wonder what are the major black influences in
japanese culture. I know that black culture gets absorbed by the mainstream culture (american mainstream), even though it might be absorbed a while later. There are still lots of black culture in american mainstream. I was wondering are there influences in the japanese culture. For example are there any "soul food" resturants in japan? Are there any black phrases that are known katakana (Like what's up, or I'm chillin)? Is there any black fashion in japan? Perhaps is there black art in japan (like could I find paintings of the egyptians or old african american paintings)?

teddy bear-san>>this is kind of standard..for japanese artist to do..I think you going to have to search really hard if you not in tokyo or osaka,,for the soul food thing,,,BUT you can get it at some club events,,,sometime they sell it at the party.....look for it...you are moving there right???i so please keep in mind..YOU MUST GO THERE WITH OPEN MIND..if you go like that you gonna have so much fun...if you go thinking its gnna be a certain way..that maybe people told you about...you goona hate it....so just go...with clear open mind....ITS WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER THAT WAY....I love japan....THATS SOME COOL PEOPLE OVER THERE<<YOU JUST GOT TO LOOK really HARD TO FIND THEM......

about black phrases as far as I know,we don't have that.but some people who like hip hop use `what's up?` or F word. I think they want to behave like black people.
do you live in Japan now?? if you do, you must feel difference the way of thinking for black culture.
since Ive got NY,I really feel that. for example,hip hop music here is very very close to their life.In Japan NO.some people complain about that Japanese cannot understand the hiphop or black culture.I don't think so.
we have different culture.we cannot change it.but we can learn other culture and life. good music is good for anyone,right??
