英語で人生相談♪♪コミュのNOVA　News from my friends...

I have many foreign friends who are living in Japan. They are currently working at Nova English school in Tokyo. I had a chance to have dinner with some of my friends recently and fond out that they have been struggling with working at NOVA because they haven't been paid for 3 months.
I was so surprised to hear the fact...At once I felt sorry for them and I started feeling uneasy about Business management of NOVA.

I've seen some news that NOVA got business suspension order but I didn't think that it's affected their business so much.
Today, I saw news about this company and found out the situaltion is pretty BAD...

All of my friends who work for NOVA have private students outside but they are still looking for a new job. They seemed to be desperate to live here... All of them said "the company will bankrupt very soon".

Also one of my student's friend recently joined NOVA school, even though they got suspended. That's also bad!!

僕は日本に住んでいる外国人の友達につい先日久しぶりに会う機会があった。
彼らは東京で大手英会話スクール（NOVA)で現在英会話講師として働いているが、
3ヶ月ほど給与が支払われておらず、ほぼ「無料（タダ）働き」の状態にあるらしい。その状況からNOVAの経営状態に不安を感じ、彼らの日本での生活に影響を及ぼしていると全員が嘆いていた。新聞やニュースでは「営業停止命令」について知ってはいたが、ここまで状況が悪化しているとは思っていなかったので、彼らの生の声で実態を聞きびっくりした。

それに僕の生徒の友達が、つい最近NOVAに入会したと聞いた。それってどうなんだろうか？一部営業停止とはいえ、こんな最悪な経営状況で更に生徒を入会させ、雇用している講師たちは不払いでストライキを起こしているので、実際に講師も不足して生徒がレッスン予約がとれず更に状況は悪化しているのに・・・

もしこれで会社が倒産したら、今いる生徒さんたちはどうするんだろうか？
確かNOVAはレッスン料の前払い制だから、きっと多額の代金を支払っている人が多いだろうに・・・倒産したらきっと返金はされないだろうな。

How about ジオス or イーオン?
Those companys are also so bad??
if not , isn't it possible for your ffiends to work at them?

Hi trix,
Sorry for the late reply. Well, I'm not sure about Geos and Aeon... but many teachers are going to move some of those companies soon.
My opinion is a big school is located near station is very tough to run business because of high rent so maybe this is also the reason why Nova has a difficult time at the moment.

My bf is working at english school.
He said many teachers from Nova came to the school which my bf is working to have a job interview. almost 1000 teachers!
I feel sorry for them.

I know, it's too bad for them...
I heard that some teachers have been kicked out of their apartments because NOVA stopped paying their rent!!
I don't know it's good or bad but I saw some English schools are actually trying to rescue NOVA's teachers and students at a discount price.
I guess that's great. I can see the model of Japanese society!
