I have a few questions I was meaning to ask a few days ago. Could you possibly tell me what a good way to go about memorizing more intricate grammar patterns is?I haven't taken the level 2test of the jlpt yet, and I'm also working on more vocabulary. I'm not entirely sure of how to go about retaining such a large amount of words in a language that I don't even get to use everyday. there are some books in japanese here, but not really enough of them to challenge me. Newspapers are still pretty hard to read. Perhaps I should pick a topic and learn words dealing with that topic until I feel confident in that area? When you have time, feel free to throw some ideas my way. I appreciate the help.
ヲレの回答: I think you come to the intermediate linguistic level of Japanese and are confronted with a wall obstructing the way to the next level. Frankly speaking, the pith of the matter is that even a native cannot attain the perfection of his/her mother tongue and his/her language is restricted to his/her life and way to realize desires including vocations, in vocabulary and phraseology.
The knack to master a language is to know what to learn and how further to learn. For example, the English spoken by a doctor and that by a lawyer are different. You have to determine the distinctive purpose. You want to read a Japanese newspaper or to speak the Japanese of some professional field? Or you want to pass some Japanese linguistic examination?
This is the key you need.
Finally, can I contain your mail(of course on the condition to hide your private informations including your handle name and mail addresss) on my blog to write an article?
