Hi dear members!!
How's everything? I hope you enjoy perfect autum weather in these days!

On November 1st I walked the 2 km philosorpher path between Ginkaku-ji
and Nanzen-ji along the 疎水stream with two women, one is Stera
(a canadian woman) and another is Ayako, one of my best friends
living in Vancouver.

Though there was no sunshine at all on this day, we walked and walked
while chatting and shopping a lot. To my surpreise Stera is very fond of
抹茶 and Japanese sweets like おはぎ and other cakes made from red beans.

Stera has stayed in Japan for almost one month as a tourist and has
great affection for Japan particularly for old parts of Japan. Ayako is
a master of the tea ceremony(池坊)and giving lessons to Stera in Vancouver.
Ayako wanted me to join them for their sightseeing in Kyoto so I acted as a
guide to show them the 哲学の道。 Yea, it was simply a divine encounter!

It is autumn.
We are impressed to see beautiful colored leaves.
For a short period, we will taste this impression slowly.
I'm glad to hear Yakichi has deep emotional sentiment for beauty!
Delicate but short lived colored leaves...
I hope everyone won't miss the chance to view them while they are fresh!
Yesterday, November 3, I visited my ex-collegue at her marvelous house
located nearby the 神功皇后陵 in Misasagi-cho, Nara-city with three old
friends of mine.

We walked the narrow path by the 皇后陵 seeing dozens of persimmon trees
bearing fresh yellowish red fruits. Wild chrysanthemum, cosmos and other
unkown little flowers were blooming in the field beside the path. チューリップクローバー
The sky was clear blue!! It was simply the perfect day for walking!

When we reached her house, we were welcomed by a hostess of this house
with the nice cooking smell from the kitchen.
Her house is just a paradise!! The whole house is open to the nature!
There are no shutters and panels seen to devide the rooms.
Every room is kept open for the comfort for the family.
From the second floor, which is used for sun room and bed room,
you can look down each room at a glance!

You are Nara-shi line he phlegm.
I wanted to say that it contacted it if it went to Nara-shi, but it was work on November 3.
I am very busy at a branch of the ラーメン shop.
But the autumn hiking lives.

Wow, according to her, the size of the whole ground is valued 800坪...
AND 300坪 is used for the house...

What ever a difference between her house and mine..あせあせ(飛び散る汗)あせあせ(飛び散る汗)
In winter her husband makes a fire with マキ in the fireplace.
So he usually has been quite busy cutting trees to make マキ...

Do you know an architect 坂倉準三、a teacher of 丹下健三?
Her house was designed by Sakakura and completed by 宮大工.
Amazing, isn't it!

Hi, Yakichi
Next time I'll take you to エバちゃん's house since you are a housing expert.
エバちゃん(Japanese)got married Mr. Evang(Norwegian) while they studied at
Bonn University in Germany for five years. She is Lufthansa OG, speakes
perfect German and remains kind of my dear fellow folk. 晴れ
I have lived in Malaysia for two years. I like my retired
life in Kuala Lumpur, but I have made it a practice to return
to Japan to enjoy the beautiful colors of nature twice a year
both in spring and autumn. This time to see autumn leaves at
several temples in Kyoto will be the greatest pleasure during
my short stay in Japan.

Hi, dear Members
How's everything?? busy,busy, busy???

Well, I'm now writing here to introduce my friend Yu-san to you.
Right! the messege written above is the greetings from him to you.
よろしくお願いします。m(__)m

He and I go way back.. we studied in the same class at Seinan-gakuin,
took part in the same Club, ESS, and shared the same worries during all
the college life. Yea, sweet memories have been lingering long..

Supposedly, he should have arreived Kuala lanpur by now as I believe
he had left Japan on November 13th... Let's see...wait until he shows up!

I wish you to welcom him when he is here again, all right?

Best regards!
I finally returned home in Kuala Lumpur again from Fukuoka.
Strange to say, I feel as comfortable here in KL as at my native
home in Japan. I am pleased to know that several friends of mine,
with whome I have made friends with in KL, seem to have waited
for my return to KL. Thanks to their friendship, I can make myself
at home in this forein city.
hi... yu-
What kind of town is Kuala Lumpur?
Is there the direct flight from Kansai?
Is there the delicious thing?
Kuara Lumpur is a big capital city. It has developed remarkably
for these past ten years. A lot of modern twenty or thirty-storied
buildings can be seen here and there in the city. On the other hand,
in their neighborhood, we can see very old houses. They were built
at the colonial age by English people more than 50 years ago. You will
be interested to see the great contrast between the forest of high-rise
buildings and very old houses.

You will also be impressed to see a mixture of many races. People
having various skin colors seem to live together in harmony at first
sight. They are making themselves understood in English among the
different races. Kuala Lumpur meminds me of New York, USA, in some ways.

Hi...yu-
Kuara Lumpur is surely a big city. But why did you intend to live in this city?
Indonesia of the Nature there is going to be it, but is a big city this time.

The trip to office of the last year was Phuket which was a Thai resort. We rode an elephant, and there was and I did fishing pleasant memory. In addition, I want to go.
やきちさんへ

I just wanted to head for a big city. I can confess now that I got
tired of my rural life in Lombok. It was a dull life from lack of
excitement. I was obliged to put up with my monotonous routine life.
I wanted to spend my life again in the hectic pace of urban life.
I had lived in such big cities as Osaka, Nagasaki and Fukuoka since
my childhood. It is no exaggeration to say that I got accustomed to
urban life too much.

Before I made up my mind to live in Lombok, I wanted to enjoy my
retired life, idling my time on a white sandy beach surrounded with
coconut trees on the tropical island. I yearned to spend such a
quiet and peaceful country life. It had been my dream. But once the
dream came true, I began to get tired of my dull life there with the
passage of time.

I still like the people and nature of Lombok very much. I realize
now that Lombok is a paradise for me only when I go on vacation once
in a while.

Hi,Yu exclamation ×2

Hmm.. Kuala really souds like a mixture of modern and old culture.
It seemes, without doubt, Kuala is a MUST to visit once..
Actually, what do you like best about your town? that MIXTURE or
people, or nature, or food, or culture, or religion?

Now you feel quite at home to see your best Malaysian frieds again around you!
I became feel that your life has taken root so deeply in Kuala as that much..
Now you have two folks both in Kuala and Japan..
you are really rich with people!

Well, let me tell you something about Yakichi's plan for this coming
year−eand vacation. He is looking for a place somewhere overseas to
visit for a comfortable vacation taking his staff in the office to celebrate
the year end.

Would you kindly give him some advice? Regarding the question about the
flight, which airline do you usually use? I guess he should choose
Malaysian Airline to fly directly from Kansai for Kuala...
Without saying Yakichi can check it in the Malaysian HP though.

I'm writing this in a bit hurry because I have to go out now to see my friend.

See you then..

The most interesting part about living in Kuala Lumpur is watching
people. People having various skin colors are living in KL in harmony.
Malaysians consist of Malays, Chinese, and Indians. Malay people are
in the majority, and Chinese Malaysians are about 25 % and Indian
Malaysians about 15 %. In addition to these three major races, a
variety of other races can be seen in KL.

Kuala Lumpur may well be called “a theme park” where we can enjoy
seeing many races. They have their own peculiar culture in the
background. I am very interested to observe their languages,
movements, foods, dresses and so on.
Oh....It makes me lot complicated!
Malay people and Malaysian people...

Do they speak quite different language?
If the major language is Malay, isn't it hard for one to live in Malaysia?

What percentage of people speak English?
How can you commununicate with them?

Oh..sorry for these stupid questions.
I'm just wondering how Yu manage to communicate with people..
I understood ways of life in your Malaysia well.
I seem to be considerably busy.
But there is your faith there.
I feel enviable for me who am pressed only by work.
I want to return to Kyushu sometime soon, too.
I want to live in the town which I am close in the sea, and is clean.
And I read with fishing and want to spend it.
Hello! ポプラ!
Malaysians mean the citizens of Malaysia. So they consist of a variety of races.
Malay is the name of an original local race in Malaysia.
Most of Malaysians can speak English. English is a "must" subject to
learn even in elementary schools. So they usually communicate with
different racial people in English. I usually speak English to Chinese,
Indian and other Malaysians. Most of them can speak English but about 20
% of Malay people can not make themselves understood in English, so I
try to speak to them in Malay, my Malay is very poor, though.

Good morning, やきち!
How are you, this morning? I hope you enjoyed the weekend with your
family and that your stress from daily work has gone away.
You seem to like reading and fishing, did't you? I can imagine that
you are enjoying your retired life, reading your favorite books under
the beach parasol or fishing sometimes. I wonder where the place is.
Why don't you make such a retired life come true in Lombok? I am ready
to offer one of my bangalows to you.

Hi, Yu-
Now I feel releived to hear that English is commonly spoken in Malaysia.
They may probably speak better English than Japanese...

Concerning the theme about Malay and Malaysian,
I think I took it pretty wrong way in spite of your nice explanation....
マレー人の喋るマレー語と中国系、インド系マレーシア人の喋る言語は
異なるのかとおもっちゃった。。。浅はか。。
They speak same Malay, right?

Hi, Yakich
Ta.da(ジャジャーン)...you have a big LUCK!
the BANGALOW is promised to you by Yu-!! Surpreise, isn't it!

Hi, everyone!
The topic we have now becomes too old and out of season.
Is there anyone who wants to get a new topic started?
Hello! Dear ポプラ,
Christmas holidays are near at hand. You are Christian and I know
you are usually leading a religious life. I guess that you may be a
little annoyed to see non-Christians making merry at this time of the
year. A majority of the people living in Kuala Lumpur are Muslims,
Buddhists and Hindus. They are usually indifferent to other religions,
but they look happy to be surrounded with Christmas atmosphere.
The same thing can be said about Japanese people.

Malaysians as well as Japanese seem to think Christmas is a national
holiday when people become kinder and more affectionate to other
people, regardless of the difference of religion. This is a global
tendency, I think. So I hope you will shut your eyes to the people
making merry. (浮かれている人々を大目に見てね)
