Hi, I'm looking for a karaoke place in LA county. I was checking on the internet and found a place called "Orchid karaoke club" in Korean town but I'm not sure if it's good or not. Does anyone know a good place where I can have a private room for a couple of people like how we do in Japan? Please give me some recommendations (in Japanese is ok too). Thanks!
The one in little tokyo is owned by either koreans or chinese, so they have less japanese songs, and more of those songs. i definitely recommend yuu-yuu to that one.
I went to Karaoke Yuu Yuu on Friday in the afternoon.
I would like to post some review here...The place looked kinda sad...looking plain and dark, but it was cheep and had many songs as it says on the website too. They didn't have drinks in glasses but had only soda in cans etc for 2 bucks at the counter. You are not allowed to bring any drinks. Sound system is not that great and doesnt have any lighting system like Japan. I could also hear other people singing when I was in the hallway. I would say it's not a place to bring your non-Japanese friends, since it's not like a party place. But if you want the cheapest place to sing with your Japanese friends, I would recommend here. It's 3 bucks/hour on weekdays and 4 bucks/hour on weekends from 1pm to 8pm. *I used system C, so I don't know about system A and B*
If anyone knows any place with better system and looking, please let me know. I would like to pay more for better exprience next time.
As said above, Elvis is can be one of your choice. According to the ones that are willing to sing Japanese songs, it might not be a place to go since there updates are inconsistent. But unlike the other Japanese karaoke places, large selection of languages brings variety of customers. Well if your not much into Japanese songs, there are many others with private boxes that you can look for. Try looking on yellow page or online.
葵san> thank you for the info =) I would like to try both places!
reefkeeper san> yeah, i was trying to look up online but i get to find too many karaoke "bars" rather than "boxes"...i guess thaths cuz Americans like bars more.
Rockin' Ryu san> wow, thats cool your uncle owns the place! i see, its in OC. well, if i get to go there, i will tell them you recommended me! ;)
