[NO FRILLS MIXER] This month the small German manufacturer, MFBerlin, has released a video mixer that comes in at under £260. The MFB mixer is a small and compact two-channel unit that's aimed directly at the low budget user. At a quick glance you might be forgiven for thinking it was manufactured 20 years ago, but this lack of styling helps make it affordable. The mixer has four video inputs and two outputs with a mixture of S- Video and composite connectors, although it can only mix two sources at once. Unfortunately there is no preview output but there are a number of effects that can be synchronised by both MIDI and a live audio input. The included effects work as a video equalizer giving brightness, contrast, luminance, chrominance and saturation controls, making it an extremely useful tool for the mobile VJ.
