Already this week I've had 2 pizzas from Domino's. I hadn't had pizza for about 2 months, then suddenly I had one on Thursday. My usual pizza -- Hawaiian Delight (Ham and Pineapple). And again today I had it for lunch.
But it's just toooooo damn easy to order. I just go online and in 30 seconds I've got a pizza en route! (it's in my お気に入りメニュー so it's just a few clicks to order).
Anyway, Japanese pizza is too bloody expensive, but pizza is pizza. But now I have to pay for it....ジムに行ってきます!
I had a pizza in Miami. the taste is not so different from Japanese pizza....
but...... the shop staff ....was much different from japan. lol
not so polite, even though they make mistakes. :) it was interesting for me, but my friend got mad at them. lol it's natural because we waited for our pizza for a hour in the shop. it was all their fault, though.
but I prefer home made pizza. which I make. :DDD
would you try it? :)
Baby, I would die to try your pizza!
Do you deliver!!?? haha
Doggy: Yeah, I know Papa John's. We have them in
Vancouver, too. Although, when I was going to UBC, we
would order from Panagopolis Pizza. Everything on the
menu was 2-for-1. So for the price of one large
pizza -- about $15, we'd get 2. And as you know, a
large pizza in the west is really large!! I can't
believe I didn't get fat! (Although I'm not so skinny
now. lol)
ちなみに、Baby, you made a good point about the
attitude of the staff. I agree -- the service in Japan
is ALWAYS efficient, reliable and polite. I love that.
But it does get tooooo polite sometimes. For example,
the pizza guy today said something like "商品を渡して
よろしいでしょうか” or something like that. That may be
too polite -- or at least a waste of time. I mean, of
course I will never say, ”やっぱ、商品渡されたくない。。。
帰れこの野郎!" haha
Anyway, it was gooood and good food for the gym. I
did 45 minutes or running and then steps, and 45
minutes of a great weight training workout. So it
was the energy I needed :)
Yeah, I also don't eat it so often -- but that's mostly because I'm trying to eat more sensibly these days. But all this talk about pizza, combined with the shitty weather...I might have pizza for dinner yet again!
i like pizza that i had one in the states when i stayd my friend's house.though frozdn it was really yummmmy.
my friend often bought mushroom and spinach with garlic or just simple tomato and cheese. i like both.
American really love pizza because my friend's family often have ones twice a day.
me? no thanks, its enough once a day.
Since Ive spend more than half of my lifetime so far here, in the states, I am pretty sure I have already eaten more than enough # of pizzas which can last the rest of my life. (I already have good immune system for this particular food....haha)
where i live, Chicago, is one of a few cities which is famous for its regional pizza. Chicago-style is deep-dish!! BUT I HATE THAT! haha, i am a fan of hand-tossed pizzas with a lot of vegetables. I personally think onions and green peppers are musts. i also like to have Italian sausages.
When it comes to Japanese pizzas, i prefer Teriyaki-chicken topping.
At last, my all time and "absolute" favorite is margherita!!!, but i dont like to have this specific one unless a restaurant has real brick pizza oven to bake it in an authentic way... i think i encountered pizza restaurants that have those brick ovens more easily back in Tokyo, than here in Chicago.
I am sorry to go off the topic, but more than pizzas, i miss white-cream sauce pastas like pasta alla carbonara! they don't have white-cream sauce pasta here like they do back in Japan. (the "whitest" sauce I can get here is probably Alfred sauce, but it's not quite white-cream sauce i expect....)
Yup, I agree with you about the deep dish thing. They
had that back when I was living in Vancouver, but I never
really got into it. I mean, if I wanted to eat extra
bread, I'd eat...well...extra bread. Nope, when it comes
to pizza, I appreciate a thin crispy crust with super
fresh ingredients and oglio d'olive. Actually, I studied
in Florence, Italy for a year and that's the pizza I
remember the most. Fresh, fresh fresh!!
As for the cream sauces, I reckon that in the States, with
the sudden interest in health, they aren't using real
cream. In any case, I'm 100% a tomato sauce fanatic -- so
I can't really give a learned opinion about the carbonara
in giappone e la carbonara negli stati uniti. So I'll take
your word for it that it's better in the states :)
I agree w/ you about the deep-dish pizzas; they have too much bread... I like thin crust, too. it always goes well with fresh veggies =) it's not a pizza, but one of my favorite italian food is bruschetta
My fiance LOOOOOOVES deep-dish pizzas with extra cheese, which is another thing i dont really enjoy, and various kinds of meat such as sausage, ham, bacon and so forth. (he's very healthy, works out real hard, but doesn't like veggies much.) Hence we always have to order two totally different kinds....
It's awesome, btw, that you studied in Italy! You speak italian?? I picked up some when i used to date with a man from Italy... (I speak español, thus it wasnt too hard.) ive never been to the country though!
Ally:
Well, I used to be more of a ham and sausage,
no-veggie guy, too. I think that all of us guys love
that stuff. I still do, but I've slowly changed my
eating habits so I get less of that stuff, and more
calories from veggies and fruits. Actually, I'm going
to make a post about Costo today, and you'll see how
much fruit I eat. lol
And yes, riesco a parlare italiano, (piu' o meno)lol.
Pero, non conosco neanche una persona italiana qua,
quindi ho perso molto la lingua. OK, I'm finished
showing off now. haha Actually, if you speak Spanish
I'm sure you understood most of that -- if you can
speak either French, Italian or Spanish, you can usually
read all three to some extent.
Hi Yoko! Yeah, I love that, too. In fact, when I used to go shopping in costco, I'd have BOTH the hot dog AND the pizza. But I don't want to get tooooo fat, so now I just have the hot dog. But the pizza is super yummy :)
