Hello Mike! My name is Blondie.
This is my first appearance in this community!

I am working for physically disabled people.
I am providing many welfare products such as wheelchairs, crutches, nursing care beds...and so on.

One of my customer who is English has asked me about welfare system in Japan、especially for physically disabled people. However, I could not explain it to him properly.

I was wondering if you could tell me these words in English.

・障害福祉課
・身体障害者手帳
・身体障害者給付制度
・日常生活用具給付金
・肢体不自由
・身体障害者

I think we have to be very careful with these words when we use it, so please help me!

先日ネイティブの方とやりとりしていて、
自分のボキャの乏しさから、表現が非常に幼くなってしまい、
反省しました。。。例えば「handicapped」等の表現は
私には差別的に聞こえます。仕事上必要な知識でありながら、
英語での表現は非常に勉強不足と痛感し、トピを立てさせていただきました。私の英語表現のみでは不十分と思いまして、追加しました。

Hmmmm. Quite difficult. THe best way for translations is to go to the ALC
home page. The only one I can say for sure is:

・身体障害者 -- Physically disabled

The others seem like Japanese forms of social welfare, and the names of
these things might be different from country to country.

Does anybody have any suggestions?
