=======

For Bagpak White Label’s launch release, Yellowtail [aka Hiro Awanohara] teams up with veteran vocalist Jeni Fujita to deliver this solid nu-soul gem originally featured on Gilles Peterson’s label, Brownswood Recordings. Yellowtail’s Silverback remix flips the original version into dancefloor number with its dirty-thick beats, heavy bass and synth-lines accompanied by Jeni’s sultry vocals.

Based in Brooklyn, Yellowtail broke ground with his debut release on Compost Records' Future Sounds of Jazz 9 followed by original and remix releases from labels such as Irma, Head2Toe, Brownswood Recordings, Amalgama and Bagpak Records. His tracks have been featured on influential radio shows such as Gilles Peterson's Worldwide on BBC Radio1, JdaFlex on 1XTRA, Elevations Radio Show, BrokenBeatRadio, Offtrack Radio, BeyondJazz, etc. He has also collaborated with artists such as Eska, Alison Crockett and Monday Michiru.

Longtime Brooklyn resident and veteran singer Jeni Fujita can be heard on multiple major label albums, from Wyclef Jean to Lauren Hill to John Forte. The Grammy nominated hit single, “Guantanamera” by Wyclef Jean featured Jeni’s solid vocal skills. She also has numerous TV performances, such as MTV and Saturday Night Live, and has also toured with megastars like Destiny’s Child, Wyclef Jean and Pink. Watch out for Jeni’s solo album that’s near completion.
