脳卒中で体半分動けなくなりました。
I can't move 1/2 of my body because of a stroke.

Hello!

I am happy to find this topic!
It seems to be for me! Actually I used to be a physiotherapist in Japan.
Unfortunately, I have not worked using English though, but it will be great chance for me as well to study about 脳卒中 in English.

脳卒中----脳出血
　　　￤
　　　￤-脳梗塞
　　　￤
　　　　--くも膜下出血
Basically, 脳卒中 is classified into 脳出血, 脳梗塞 and くも膜下出血.

脳卒中:
I am not sure but perhaps you can call it 'brain attack' or 'brain stroke.'

脳出血：cerebral hemorrhage
脳梗塞：cerebral infarction
くも膜下出血：sub-arachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)

I would say
- I cannot move right/left side of my body because of (brain)stroke.

I am afraid I am not sure though.

Anyway, I found that 脳卒中 can be called just 'stroke.'
