さて、言語チャレンジです！

ひっきりなしに」を英語にすると、どんな表現を用いるのでしょうか。

How I would say it:

non-stop, incessantly, like crazy

例文：　「電話がひっきりなしにかかる」。

How I would say it:

The phone has been ringing off the hook.

Old style phones had a "hook" that you placed the handset on. The phone rang with a real bell, so I guess if it rang to long it might make it fall off of the hook. Whatever the origin, in the US we still use "ring off the hook" to mean get a lot of calls (in a bad sense).
