I stayed in Kamloops from 1997 until 2002. The time I spent there was indeed unforgettable. I met people from many different countries. I even made a girl friend from Korea!!! Unfortunately, we broke up in 3 and 1/2 years. Anyway, I think we all agree, if choosing UCC and the city of Kamloops, where the population of 80,000, was solely educational and intended to study English, the place should have provided you with perfect? environment and almost no distraction (unless you were into such sports as snowboarding or outdoor sports). During the stay at UCC, I have enjoyed this distraction free environment where and never studied like I did previously I came to UCC....Anyhoo....I thought changing its name to TRU in 2005 was not the best thing happened to the school.(I jsust didn't buy the naming...) Of course, it has many advantages which yet to be seen from my eyes.
Kan-kun> Yeah, whether you like it or not, it has been changed. Check it out at their HP. TRU stands for Thompson River University. Does it ring any bell? For real!! That's the name of the river we all should be familiar with. In my ears, the name doesn't sound very cool. Sounds like the cartoon, tom-soya no boken....hummm....not quite...but hey, at least, it's a full-fledge university now.
I didn't know that the name had been changed.
I studied in UCC from April to August in 1999.
I made a lot of friends from various countries but now it is not so easy to keep contact with them, unfortunately...
So if you were in UCC the same time as me, please let me know!
I went to the school from 1997 and graduated with BBA in August 2002. So we must have bumped each other up in one of the corridors in the campus. Although I was very invisible back then....I was a good student (self-betterment) hiding behind books. But some people may say i was a party animal outside of the school. I used to hit the bar at least once a week...Good old Fox'n Hounds. I met freinds from all over the world too. Speaking of which, I should send emails to them(sorry, i talking to myself) .
