Thank you for your e-mails of xx October regarding the activation
of security device.
If you would like to activate the security device, an SMS passcode will
be sent to your mobile phone to complete the activation process. We do
not send Internet mail message to mobile phone and sorry for the
inconvenience you may be caused.
Besides receiving SMS passcode via mobile phone, you can have the
security device activated by calling our hotline with a phonebanking
Personal Identification Number (PIN). You can register for our
phonebanking service with your Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card PIN
by calling our Personal Service Hotline on [852] 2233 3000 and following
the steps below.
- Select your preferable language
- Press 5
- Enter your SmartVantage account number and then press #
- Press 1 for the instant registration
- Enter your SmartVantage account number and then press #
- Press # again
- Enter your six-digit ATM card PIN
- Enter your preferable six-digit number as your phonebanking PIN
- Re-enter your preferable phonebanking PIN for confirmation
After the successful registration for phonebanking service, you can call
the above hotline and press 5-#-1-0 after the language selection. After
your Phonebanking PIN has been verified, our colleague will be pleased
to activate the security device for you.
Alternatively, you can fill in an 'HSBC Internet Banking
Maintenance/Cancellation Request Form', and then mail the completed form
bearing your account signature to the address printed on the form. We
will process your instruction within three business days after receiving
it. You can download the form via our website at www.hsbc.com.hk by
clicking 'Personal' and then 'Download Forms and Documents'.
