I really need some advice here.

I'm an English assistant teacher at the moment and I have an education qualification to teach ESL in Australia that isn't recognised in Japan.

I'm thinking of taking a TEFL or TESOL course online to get the qualification.

Once I get that, I will be a recognised English teacher in Japan right?

Or am I stuck as being an assistant teacher?

Any recommendations of good TESOL online courses or what other courses I should take?

I was thinking of studying education all over again at a Japanese university, but many people told me its not necessary. And I think in some ways that is true, cos I've already studied 5 years on that area, there shouldn't be any need to do it for another 3 years.

Ok, I'm thinking out loud.

But yeh, any advice would be appreciated.

If you're a native speaker of English, then TEFL is a better choice than TESOL. Other than that, I am not sure which online courses are good. Maybe you can get your certificate in a University or school in another English speaking country? This might be better rather than taking online courses. Hope this helps-
What's the difference between the 2 anyway?

And why aren't online ones good?

The problem is I work and so the only way to study is at home
Emi, do you plan to work for NOVA?

今、まぁ、ちょっと怖いんです。
No
I'm a teacher of English, not an instructor of English conversation

But yeh, that was a scary story

I'm getting so confused about these qualification stuff
