It's time to wax your gear and start getting in shape for the 2006/07 winter season. Mammoth opens for the season on Thursday, November 9. Find out more about Opening Day here: http://www.mammothmountain.com/openingday/
Temperatures in town are dropping below freezing at night and it winter is in the air. There's even snow in the forecast for next week.
It's another beautiful day here in Mammoth with clear blue skies and moderate winds. The temperatures, however, have been less than cooperative and we have been unable to make any new snow in the past few days. The weather forecast is calling for temperatures to drop Wednesday evening, which will hopefully allow us to add more snow before opening.
For anyone planning to be here for opening day, please note that we will have very limited terrain on man-made snow. We plan to operate Broadway Express with skiing on Broadway. Please ski and ride with caution - early season obstacles do exist and there will be limited snow coverage. Also, please note that we will not have any beginner terrain available until further notice.
The Opening Celebration with Champagne Toast and Live Music is still scheduled for this Saturday November 11th.
Temperatures will be dropping soon and more snow will be falling so get ready for another epic season at Mammoth!
