Yin energy is expanding energy, so the feature is tall, big, cold, purple, blue, green, loose, relax, light, thin and long, something on the high place, dark, quiet, silent, plants, raw, fermentation, more Kalium, less Sodium, female, adult, autumn, winter, mind, spiritual, left, death, wet, passive, negative, fragile, tender, head, space, sour, hot taste, and so on.

Yang energy is condensing energy, so the feature is short, small, hot, red, yellow, harden, heavy, fat and stuffed, something on the low place, bright, movement, circle, animals, baked something, something which is added fire, dried something, ripe, more Sodium, less kalium, male, children, spring, summer, loud voice, alive, birth, bitter, salty, dry, positive, active, solid, strong, durable, body, time, and so on.

You can judge Yin or Yang by these features.
For example, an avocado is very Yin because it¡Çs green and grows on the tall tree.
Radioactivity is Yin because it¡Çs purple.
Salt is very Yang because it¡Çs salty and has much sodium.
If we have Yin food, we had better cook it with Yang food.
When we eat an avocado, we had better eat it with salt.
When we take an X-ray examination, we had better eat salty food like Japanese umeboshi after it or before it.

Also, we can know our condition by the feature.
For example, when we are so stubborn, we become Yang. So, we should eat less Yang food.
When our feces is loose, it means our condition is Ying now.

Gluten is more yang than fat, but more Yin than carbohydrate.
Now, most people have gotten too much protein from animal food, so they have much protein in their bodies. We are not animals to eat meat, so we can¡Çt digest so much protein from animal food. And the bodies tell us by allergy that the bodies can¡Çt have more animal protein. And, the bodies can¡Çt digest even the protein from plants.
So, there are many people who have some problem with gluten.
If we continue eating macrobiotic diet like grain and vegetables, we mustn¡Çt have some problem with gluten from plants.
