Special Prayer Days ~ 2007
Special Message for the Sangha
from Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche
Starting this Saturday, March 3,
Dzogchen Students are Kindly Requested
to Make Special Prayers On Each
of the Four Special Holy Days of the Lunar Calendar

These days are:

This Saturday, March 3, 2007 corresponding to the 15th day of the 1st lunar month
Event: The Excellent Time of Miracles, Chotrul Duchen

Thursday, May 31, 2007 corresponding to the 15th day of the 4th lunar month
Event: The Excellent Time of the Buddha's Enlightenment and Parinirvana, Saga Dawa Duchen

Wednesday, July 18, 2007 corresponding to the 4th day of the 6th lunar month
Event: The Excellent Time of the Turning of the Wheel of Dharma, Chokhor Duchen

Thursday, November 1, 2007 corresponding to the 22nd day of the 9th lunar month
Event: The Excellent Time of Descent From the Realm of the Gods, Lha Bab Duchen

On these days, it is best if Sangha members can congregate and practice together. In particular, we should practice and pray with the supreme intention of Bodhicitta, that all beings may attain perfect enlightenment, and that famine, war and disease be pacified in this world. These are the prayers and practices not only of the Dzogchen Sangha, but of all Buddhist monasteries, retreat centers and congregations around the world. On these days, everyone is doing extra virtuous practice.

These are also special auspicious prayer days for all sponsors of the Dzogchen Retreat Center project. On these days, the international Sangha should engage in a special grand prayer for the purpose of world peace, for the long life of the holy teachers and for the benefit of the kind contributors and sponsors of the Dzogchen lineage.

If we cannot practice together, it is also fine to practice separately. Whatever we do we should try to accumulate merit on these excellent days.

At the conclusion of our practice, we should dedicate our merit to the long life of Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, and all teachers of the holy Dharma, and for the successful establishment of the Dzogchen Retreat Center and the flourishing of the Dzogchen Lineage of Enlightenment.

May we write in our organizers these excellent days
May we organize to practice together on these excellent days
May we practice and dedicate excellently on these days
May we and all beings attain the supreme excellent result of Enlightenment
