Japanese films at the QFT Starting on Friday 23rd February, the Queen's Film Theatre, located near the Queen's main building in Belfast, will be showing a series of Japanese films. From February 23rd to March 15th they will be showing Letters from Iwojima, the Clint Eastwood’s Academy Award-nominated film account of the battle of Iwojima, told from the perspective of the Japanese who fought there.
During this period (Friday 2nd - Wednesday 7th March) the QFT will also be showing Move Over, Ozu, a Japan Foundation touring programme of films looking at how contemporary Japanese film makers use the canvas of family to portray changes in attitudes and relationships to society. As the timing may permit, one may wish to consider catching one of the Move Over, Ozu series followed by Letters from Iwojima in one evening. Please contact the QFT directly for further information. Further details are attached to this e-mail.
