The Japan Film Society Proudly Presents its inaugural Community Screenings Series event with THE WINTER SHORTS!
Join us as we share a selection of shorts from local Japanese and Japanese-influenced filmmakers, featuring a special Q&A sessions with the talent after each film!
Admission is $16, which includes a choice of one of the following delicious items from the Royal/T menu:
a) Oyako-don b) Beef Curry c) Unagi Bowl d) Vegetable Tempura-don (Vegetarian)
*Admission for screening only is $8.*
Doors will open at 6:00pm with the first short film beginning promptly at 6:30pm.
We will also feature a free raffle for a chance to win prizes!
FILMS TO BE SCREENED: - The Milkman's Way (Directed by: Tomoya Nakamura. A "genuine milkman" is forced to choose between his integrity and temptation.)
- Chinese Antique (Directed by: Ryo Shiina with Bassem Wahbi and Anthony Ma. A bratty teen is forced to work at a store that is going out of business.)
- 3 Men + One (Directed by: Mikio Nakazato. A comedy about a Japanese sushi snob who gets a unique lesson in "taste" from an African American chef.)
- Half Kenneth (Directed by: Ken Ochiai. 1945: after the death of their father, Ken and Jo escape Japanese American internment camp to find their Caucasian mother, but discover something neither of them could have anticipated.)
