現在浄土真宗はハワイやアメリカにも有りますが、日本と比べれば色々な違いや海外にしかない問題、あるいはアメリカの宗教的な社会。海外ではもう百年もたちますが、まだまだ多数の問題、面白い出来事、変化、アメリカの宗教社会の中にいる浄土真宗を考えたいとおもっていますし、そういう所をこの場で色々なdiscussion, information, questionsをこのグループでやりたいと思っております。
Though Jodo Shinshu has been existent in Hawaii and the United States (and beyond), not many in Japan realize the importance and significance that Japanese Buddhism especially Jodo Shinshu has upon American society and some of the influences that have been un-noticed over the past 100 years of Jodo Shinshu being rootedin the US. Some of them are identity problems, a problem of maintaining tradition, and the ethnic and generational gaps, including those who had experienced the turbulent times of World War 2. I hope this group will be a ground for those who would like to know or think about how one culture is interpreted on one end and how another perceives a foreign culture (in either way) both in positive and negative aspects. Please note this group discussion is limited to this subject and the exchange ofideas on religion and the culture of religion for both Japan and the US. Any negative discussions or attack are completely forbidden and are subject to the moderator's review. Thank you for your cooperation.
