In general, people in America have mixed emotions about the future. They think that conditions now are poor. For example, a recent poll showed that 63% of Americans agreed with the statement that "the American Dream has become impossible for most people to achieve." However, they cling to hope for the future; the same number feel that their children will have a higher standard of living than they enjoy, showing that most Americans do still hold on to their dreams.
