I'm working on an article for Newsweek Japan about eikaiwa. It's called おかしいぞ. 日本の英会話, and looks are aspects of the industry that are odd: the preference for American English, for example, bias against Japanese teachers, poor conditions, low expectations on both sides. So I wondered if you or your friends have ever had unsatisfying or odd experiences with eikaiwa. I'm collecting comments/stories for thearticle, deadline Dec. 8. What do you think?"
