This is David. I was a part-time teacher for NCB in Osaka and Kobe until last month. I'm really sorry about what happened to NCB and you. Trust me, all the teachers miss you dearly.
I've just joined this community and don't have many "friends" on it yet, but I hope that will change soon.
Anyway, the point of this message!: My friend and I are planning some small English-skills seminars in Shinsaibashi and we'd like to know what kind of topics you are interested in learning about? For example, business or presentations or travel or....? Please let me know so we can help you best.
I'm interested how to make a speech or a presentation. Discussion with Chemistry is also attractive. It hasn't to be full of term word, it would be Ok if you can provide me things which average relatively educated english-speaking people commonly know. For example, first we read one article from science section in a newspaper, then discuss about it afterward. It sounds too much difficult though.... If you have any idea to this, please let me know. Anyway thak you for your suggestion. I do hope your project will be successful!
That's a good point. I taught many "Z-Levels" at NCB, and although the students were all high level, i think they need to learn and practice discussion skills. For example, HOW to discuss the difficult articles they were reading instead of just discussing them.
Also, now I work for several companies, like Mitsubishi or Sumitomo, teaching them presentation skills. Usually, it's a 2 or 3-day course. But, we could show you the basics and give you an idea on how to get started making your own presentations.
Thanks for your message! I really appreciate it.
David
