エスパーズのヘレナ・エスプヴァルによるユニットの第２弾！！

【 OVERLOADE ARK 】LP/CD
It was a little over a year ago that we witnessed the debut of the partnership of Helena Espvall and Masaki Batoh with their really rather underrated debut LP/CD. This eponymous album was a variety bag of heady psych styles, ranging from medieval jams and trad folk adaptations/a blues cover to improv duos and pan-ternational space excursions. It was all really great, and that's at least partly why we're so excited that one year later they're back with more. The new album is called Overloaded Ark — which is one way to describe the embellishment of riches found within the boards. Lots of sounds and spaces are visited on the Ark, as Helena and Batoh stretch out, pitting the cello of Espvall against Batoh's whole grass menagerie, which includes acoustic and electric guitar, organ, sho, banjo, hurdy gurdy and renaissance harp. Additionally, a few Ghost-mates were called upon to lay further colors into the hull of the craft, thus ensuring a colorful trip for all who choose to ride the Overloaded Ark though the fogs of centuries-old folk music and uniquely Japanese psychedelia to continents unknown. Coming out on the same day as Six Organs of Admittance's Luminous Night, the Overloaded Ark 2xLP/CD envisions an ever-smaller global village (all the better to see you with, my foreign friends!) and an even rounder Earth than we had a year ago. This is climate change we can endorse!
