翻訳エディタは Documentation Group に所属し、Technical Communications Manager の管理下になります。実務は Translation Project Manager に付いて行い、勤務形態は契約社員となります。主な仕事内容は、英語の原文を日本語の訳文と対照し、翻訳エラーを修正することです。
勤務時間は当面週 20 時間のハーフタイムとなりますが、後に延長される可能性があります。お仕事に慣れてからは自宅勤務も検討しますが、勤務開始当初は Foster City オフィスへ出社していただきます。
応募資格
* 技術翻訳経験 5 年以上
* 細部によく気がつく方
* 期日に沿って仕事をする感覚を持ち合わせていること
* 上級レベルの MS Word のスキル
* 日本語の文章力が非常に高いこと
* 英語の読解力が非常に高いこと
* 米国での労働許可を有していること (弊社はビザサポートはいたしません)
* 仕事の優先度に合わせてやりくりする柔軟性を備えていること
その他の歓迎するスキル
* ソフトウェアエンジニアリング関連の経験。特に C や C++ などのオブジェクト指向プログラミング言語やネットワーク関連。
* 用語やスタイルガイドに沿った編集の経験
* ドキュメントのローカライゼーション業務についての理解

Translation editor is a contract position reporting to the Manager of Technical Communications and working closely with the Translation Project Manager, both in the Documentation Group. This position entails comparing English-language source documents against their Japanese-language translations, identifying translation mistakes, and fixing the mistakes.
This position will start out as half-time (20 hours/wk), with the possibility of increased hours over time. On-site work is highly desired for an initial period, after which telecommuting is possible.
Required qualifications include:
* Five years of technical translation experience
* Detail-oriented
* Deadline-oriented
* Strong MS Word skills
* Exceptionally strong Japanese-writing skills
* Exceptionally strong English-reading skills
* Permission to work in the United States (visa support not provided)
* Flexibility: the ability to adjust priorities as required
Desired qualifications include:
* Software engineering background, especially in C, C++ or other object-oriented language and/or networking
* Experience in editing for terminology and style integrity
* Understanding of the documentation-localization process
